Our Commitment to Sustainability

The Brit Fest takes place in one of the most beautiful parts of Cheshire, and we are dedicated to keeping it that way. We invite all festival-goers to join us in preserving the environment by following our festival pledge:

Leave No Trace

Please leave your areas tidy and take all your belongings home with you. Together, we can keep the grounds clean and beautiful.

PROTECT WILDLIFE

Help us preserve the natural surroundings by ensuring all rubbish goes in the appropriate bins.

Travel Sustainably

Whenever possible, consider using public transport or car-sharing to reduce your carbon footprint.

Bring Only What You Need

Pack wisely and use resources consciously during your stay.

Water: more free drinking water points

To reduce plastic waste, we’ve discouraged the sale of single-use plastic bottles on-site. Instead, water will be served in cups or recyclable cans where possible.

We’ve added more free drinking water points, which are now easier to find with clear signage.

Energy & Equipment:
Reducing Our Carbon Footprint

We’re committed to minimising our energy consumption:

Generator Schedule: We’ve implemented an efficient generator schedule to reduce diesel use across the site.
Power-Off Policy: Non-essential equipment, like trader lights, will follow our festival-wide power-off policy, reducing energy use and emissions.
Renewable Energy Support: Through carbon offset payments, we will be contributing to renewable energy projects around the world.
Upcycled Decor: Our decor team is focused on using reclaimed and recycled materials, reducing waste and supporting a circular economy.
LED Lighting: The festival uses many KM’s of festoon lighting, all of which are energy-efficient LED bulbs, reducing consumption by up to 90%.

Food & Drink:
Sustainable and Local

We’ve discouraged single-use plastics on-site, so all drinks will be served in recycled cups where possible, reducing our carbon emissions by up to a tonne for every 10,000 cups saved. Additionally:

Recycling & Food Waste Bins: All vendors are equipped with proper recycling and food waste bins to minimise landfill waste.
Local Produce & Discounts: Traders are encouraged to use local produce.
Compostable Serveware: All trader crockery, cutlery, and serve-ware (like wooden stirrers and cutlery) are fully compostable.
